Bridges was founded by husband-and-wife team  Meriem Fitzgerald and Sidi Ali Maelainin. Sidi Ali (yes-like the water, no- not related!) brings his rich background in teaching and IT, along with a deep love for Japan. In fact he is the original founder of the Japanese Circle at Al Akhawayn University!

Meriem grew up in a family deeply rooted in teaching English as a foreign language. Her parents moved from the USA to Morocco several decades ago and became English teachers and trainers.With her background in psychology and her language teacher DNA, creating a language school that prioritizes student well-being felt like a natural path to follow.

Together with an incredible team of passionate teachers and staff, they’ve built Bridges into a vibrant learning community. Not only is Bridges a fantastic place to learn, but it’s also a wonderful place to work—just ask our teachers!
